Gargash: The Saudi, Egyptian and UAE alliances face a fierce regional attack
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, on Friday, expressed his criticism of what he described as “false news” affecting Saudi Arabia and Egypt, describing the source of that news as “helpless”, but he did not name it.
In a tweet on Twitter, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said, “I pause at the false news that reaches Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE, and at a constant pace from well-known platforms, and I am not surprised.”
Anwar Gargash added in his tweet that “building an Arab bloc looks at stability and progress as a basis for the region and its future, faced by a fierce regional attack to interfere in Arab affairs, assisted by the weak, marginalized and indecent.”
Gargash continued in another tweet, “The helpless obsession of targeting the UAE and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reminds me of the local ideal, which distinguishes between (who eats fruit and who prepares food), and food is the fruit’s nucleus, i.e. from its residues, and our site will always remain in the forefront (we eat the fruit) and remain the lurking The disabled behind us (prepares food), “according to his description.
The tweets of the UAE Minister of State come hours after statements of the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman, in which he demanded that the UAE “give up taking a hostile stance against Ankara and that its borders be bound,” according to the official Turkish news agency Anatolia.
The statements of the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman came after an Emirati statement, in which
Abu Dhabi expressed “its deep concern about Turkish interference in Arab affairs, including the Libyan internal affairs and the field escalation accompanying this intervention, and providing support to armed terrorist organizations by transporting foreign fighters from armed formations listed on terrorism lists” To Libyan territory, as well as the smuggling of heavy and light weapons in violation of United Nations resolutions and the Berlin conference, and the efforts of the international community calling for a ceasefire, “according to the UAE foreign statement.
The escalation in the diplomatic speech between Turkey and the UAE came in the wake of field changes in Libya, where Khalifa Haftar, commander of eastern Libya forces, announced the “National Army”, dropping the Skhirat Agreement and accepting “the people’s mandate” to rule Libya, while the battles are still raging in the vicinity of the Libyan capital between Haftar forces and forces affiliated with the Turkish-backed Fayez al-Sarraj government.
The UAE had announced, earlier, “its adherence to the political solution in Libya and the need for an immediate and comprehensive cease-fire,” stressing “its support for the political solution to the Libyan crisis through the course of the Berlin conference, calling on all parties to commit to the political process under the supervision of the United Nations.”
The UAE Foreign Ministry praised “the Libyan National Army’s achievement of terrorist operations and its relentless pursuit of stability and confrontation of extremist and terrorist militias in Libya.”
