Soera Al-Anbiya (De Profeten)
21:1
اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَـبُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.
Voor de mensen is de afrekening dichterbij gekomen en toch wenden zij zich in achteloosheid af.
Be like a flower that gives its fragrance even to the hand that crushes it.

21:2
مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ مُّحْدَثٍ إِلاَّ اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play.
Er komt geen nieuwe Vermaning tot hen van hun Heer of zij luisteren ernaar terwijl zij spelen.
Be like a flower that gives its fragrance even to the hand that crushes it.

21:3
لاَهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّواْ النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ هَلْ هَـذَآ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"
En hun hart is achteloos. En de onrechtvaardigen plegen overleg in het geheim zeggende: “Is deze (Mohammed) niet slechts een mens als gij? Wilt gij dan de tovenarij met open ogen tegemoet gaan?”

21:4
قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِى السَّمَآءِ وَالاٌّرْضِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
The Prophet said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing."
Hij zei: “Mijn Heer, weet wat in de hemel en op aarde wordt gezegd; Hij is de Alhorende, de Alwetende.”

21:19
وَلَهُ مَن فِى السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضِ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لاَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلاَ يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.
Hem behoort wat in de hemelen en op aarde is, en degenen die zich in Zijn tegenwoordigheid bevinden, zijn niet te trots om Hem te aanbidden, noch worden zij dit moede.

21:20
يُسَبِّحُونَ الْلَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لاَ يَفْتُرُونَ
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.
Zij verheerlijken Hem dag en nacht, en zij verslappen hierin nimmer.
Be like a flower that gives its fragrance even to the hand that crushes it.

20:25
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ نُوحِى إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ أَنَاْ فَاعْبُدُونِ
And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."
En Wij zonden geen boodschapper voor u zonder aan hem te openbaren: “Voorzeker er is geen God buiten Mij, aanbidt derhalve Mij alleen.”

20:31
وَجَعَلْنَا فِى الاٌّرْضِ رَوَاسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجاً سُبُلاً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.
En Wij hebben op aarde onwrikbare bergen geplaatst, opdat zij niet met hen (de mensen) zouden beven; en Wij hebben er wijde wegen gemaakt, opdat zij de juiste richting zouden volgen.

21:32
وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَآءَ سَقْفاً مَّحْفُوظاً وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَـتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.
En Wij hebben de hemel gemaakt tot een welbeschermd dak; niettemin wenden zij zich af van deze tekenen.

20:33
وَهُوَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَـرَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.
En Hij is het, Die de nacht en de dag schiep. Ook de zon en de maan, elk hunner beweegt zich langs een (vaste) baan.

21:34
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ الْخَـلِدُونَ
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal?
Wij hebben aan niemand voor u een eeuwig leven geschonken. Indien gij sterft, zouden zij hier dan voor eeuwig kunnen blijven?

21:35
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.
Iedere ziel zal de dood ondergaan en Wij beproeven u met kwaad en goed en tot Ons zult gij terugkeren.

21:42
قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِالَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَـنِ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِمْ مُّعْرِضُونَ
Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.
Zeg: “Wie beschermt u dag en nacht van de Barmhartige?” Neen, zij wenden zich af van de gedachtenis aan hun Heer.

21:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِّن دُونِنَا لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.
Hebben zij goden die hen kunnen beschermen anders dan Ons? Zij kunnen zichzelf niet helpen, noch worden zij beschermd tegen Ons.

Soera Al-Anbiya (De Profeten)
21:47
وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَزِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَـمَةِ فَلاَ تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئاً وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا وَكَفَى بِنَا حَـسِبِينَ
And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.
En Wij zullen weegschalen der gerechtigheid instellen op de Dag der Opstanding, zodat geen enkele ziel in enig opzicht onrecht zal worden aangedaan. En al was het slechts het gewicht van een mosterdzaadje, Wij zullen het naar voren brengen en Wij zijn voldoende als Rekenaar.
