IDF-moordenaars slaan weer toe....deze criminelen hebben vaker deze vrijheidstrijder proberen om te brengen. Dit mislukte enkele malen, nadat criminele en tot de tand gewapende killers moordaanslagen op hem beraamden. Vandaag is deze man alsnog omgebracht, nu zal hij eindelijk rust vinden. Moge Allah hem als Moejahied ontvangen, amien.
Continuing raids following Tuesday's suicide bomb attack in Netanya, Israeli soldiers shot and killed an Islamic Jihad activist after he attempted to escape arrest in Nablus early Thursday.
Mohammed Aassi, 28, a long-term fugitive, had survived past IDF attempts to assassinate him, according to Army Radio. He was considered a high-ranking leader in the Islamic Jihad active in the Balata refugee camp in the West Bank.
The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for Tuesday's suicide bomb attack across from the Hasharon Mall in Netanya, which killed five people.
Undercover forces surrounded a house where the fugitive was hiding and ordered Aassi to surrender, the army said. Soldiers shot and killed him when he tried to escape. The body was later turned over to the Palestinians, the army said.
Aassi was reportedly responsible for coordination between the West Bank Islamic Jihad cells and the organization's headquarters in Damascus, and was linked to the orchestration and carrying out of numerous terror attacks against Israel.
During the attempt to arrest Aassi, a second fugitive was wounded by IDF gunfire, Army Radio reported.
According to AP, Aassi was in the company of a British national at the time of the arrest, who Palestinian witnesses said was a reporter.
The army rejected the claims that the British woman was a journalist, and said she was an activist who gave refuge to fugitives in her home.
Palestinian police said the British woman was being questioned at her home, where she was said to be in shock. They said she was about 60 years old, had been living in Nablus for a few years and had changed her last name to "Alasi." They did not know her original family name.
Overnight Wednesday, IDF forces arrested 10 members of the Islamic Jihad across the West Bank.

Ehm, dat zal leiden tot een vicieuze cirkel. Ik ben voor vrede, maar dat kan alleen gerealiseerd worden als beide partijenen serieus aan de tafel komen zitten. De Israelers zijn niet van plan de Palestijnen een stuk grond te geven en dat de Palestijnen een staat gaan vormen, waarbij Jeruzalem als hoofdstad voor de Palestijnen gaat gelden.
