A cargo ship carrying about 300 containers, on Saturday morning, left the port of Sfax to the port of Tripoli in Libya, for a 24-hour trip, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced.
The trip is part of the operation of the shipping line Sfax-Tripoli and aims to support the efforts of Tunisian and foreign exporters through identifying new markets for promotion, it added in a statement.
This line also aims to secure the flow of goods between Tunisia and Libya and to support economic activity in both countries, especially since maritime transport continued (import-export) during this exceptional economic situation.
The Department of Transport and Logistics expressed its willingness to intensify the volume of trade with Libya through the port of Sfax, due to the advantages of maritime transport such as the shipment of important quantities of goods.
Another trip to the same destination is scheduled for May 4, 2020.
