The great scholar Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin Hasan Aal ash-Shaykh (رحمه الله) said:
"For whosoever commits Shirk has left Tawheed. For indeed they are two opposites, they can not come together. Thus whenever Shirk is present, Tawheed is absent."
