Lufthansa suspends flights to and from Tel Aviv for a further 24 hours

As informed this morning, due to the unclear situation at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, Lufthansa has decided to discontinue all flights from and to Tel Aviv on July 23. This affects the freighter flight scheduled for today and also all flights for the Lufthansa Group.

Please be advised that based on an analysis of presently available information, the Lufthansa Group will also suspend all flights of its airlines from and to Ben Gurion International Airport on Thursday, July 24, 2014. This applies to all flights of Lufthansa, Germanwings, Austrian Airlines, Swiss and Brussels Airlines.

At the present time no adequate authoritative new information is available that would justify a resumption of flights. In close coordination with the responsible authorities Lufthansa is continually evaluating the security situation for its total flight network.

No freighter flights were scheduled for tomorrow (24 July) and Friday (25 July) in the timetable of Lufthansa Cargo.

We ask for understanding for this decision and regret any inconveniences to our customers that might result from this decision.

Best regards
