[SIZE=2]Bringing the Children Indoors and Closing Doors and Windows When Night Falls:

Question:

The question regarding a Hadith concerning our children to call them in when Maghrib comes in and Shaytaan spreads, we shall lock our doors and calm our children down, and after a period of time we shall let them loose again …. How do we understand this hadith?

Answer:

The answer concerning the hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم at the time of Maghrib: “When nightfalls, then keep your children close to you, for the devil spreads out then. An hour later you can let them free;[1]

The meaning of the hadith, as the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said, the Shayateen, at this time, spread out, they come out. So the child should not be left to go out at this time by himself. If he goes out with his Walee (his guardian) then there is no problem, Inshaa’Allaah with this but he should not be left to go out on his own because the Shayateen may abduct him or they may harm him.

At this time nonetheless, the Shayateen are out and they are in large quantity and they might do types of harm. This is why we are ordered to bring the children in, calm them down or not let them out alone. As for closing the door, then the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم, he ordered that you close your doors and you say the name of Allaah سبحانه و تعالى upon it because as in a hadith, the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said: “shut the doors making mention of Allaah’s Name, for the Satan does not open a closed door”[2]

[SIZE=2]Cover your vessels at night – Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree(hafidahu Allah):

Question: This questioner has three questions.

The first question: Is covering the vessels during the night obligatory or not? Based upon his صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ statement:

غطُّوا آنيتَكُم

Cover your vessels.

Shaykh Ubaid: You are alluding to the hadith of Hudaifah, that which has been agreed upon from him:

أوكِئوا السِّقاء واذكروا اسم اللهِ عليْه، وَخمِّروا الإِناء واذكروا اسم اللهِ عليْه وَلَوْ أَن تضعوا عليهِ عودًا

Tie your water-skins and mention the Name of Allah over them, and cover your vessels and mention the Name of Allah over them, even if you place over your vessels a stick.

Muslim added—as it appears in Al Muharrar—:

فَإِنَّ فِي السَّنَةِ لَيْلَةً يَنْزِلُ فِيهَا وَبَاءٌ لَا يَمُرُّ بِإِنَاءٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غِطَاءٌ ، أَوْ سِقَاءٌ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ وِكَاءٌ إِلَّا نَزَلَ فِيهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوَبَاءِ

For verily there is a night during the year when pestilence descends, and it does not pass an uncovered vessel or an untied water-skin but some of that pestilence descending into it.

Thus what I have taken from this:

First: This affair is obligatory, and it is from the reason for protection, because he said: (even if you place over your vessels a stick) Meaning placing a spoon over a jug or over a bowl that contains drink or food.

Second: This tying—tying the water-skins and covering the vessels—should be done at night. And Allah knows best.

[SIZE=2]Iblees says : “You have done well” and embraces him:

Iblis places his throne upon water:

Sahih Muslim Book 039, Number 6755:

Jabir reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:

Iblis places his throne upon water; he then sends detachments (for creating dissension) ; the nearer to him in rank are those who are most notorious in creating dissension. One of them comes and says: I did so and so. And he says: You have done nothing. Then one amongst them comes and says: I did not spare so and so until I sowed the seed of discord between a husband and a wife. The Satan goes near him and says: ‘You have done well. A’mash said: He then embraces him.

Ibn Barjas (rahimahullâh) said:

“O student! If you want knowledge from its sources then you should stick to the great scholars [Kibâr-ul-'ulama]: those who have gray beards and weak bodies and have lost their power in [pursuit of] knowledge and educating. Stick to them before they disappear and take from their treasure before they take it with them. One misses the full-moon in the dark night!” (al-’Awa’iq, p. 26)

Imâm al-Âjurrî (d. 360) said:

”The scholars are the lights of the servants, the lighthouses of the countries, the pillars of the Ummah and the sources of the wisdom. They cause the wrath of the Devil. By their help, the hearts of the faithful live and because of them, the hearts of the misguided die. Their existence on earth is likened to the existence of the stars in the heaven by which one is guided by upon the land and sea. When they extinguish, one falls into confusion. When they shine, one sees clearly!” (Akhlâq-ul-‘Ulamâ´, p.10)

al-Hasan al-Basrî (rahimahullâh) said:

“The entire world is a darkness except for the sittings with the scholars!” (Jâmi’ Bayân-il-’ilm 1/114)

‘Abdullâh Âl ash-Shaykh said:

“Allâh has made the scholars into mediators between the Messengers and the people!” (ad-Durar 4/388)

Citaat door Arab-ELLA:
Arrogance:

Everyone who tries to be arrogant and put himself above others, Allaah will bring him down among the lowest of the low, and will humiliate him, because he is going against reality, so Allaah will punish him by thwarting his aims; the punishment is to fit the crime.

The one who is arrogant towards the people will be trampled beneath the feet of the people on the Day of Resurrection, as a punishment for his arrogance.

It was narrated from ‘Amr ibn Shu’ayb via his father and grandfather that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the arrogant will be gathered like ants in the form of men. Humiliation will overwhelm them from all sides. They will be driven to a prison in Hell called Bawlas, with the hottest fire rising over them, and they will be given to drink of the juice of the inhabitants of Hell, which is teenat al-khabaal.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2492; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2025.
