De tijden waarop je het verplichte gebed nog kunt bidden, zijn?

Verily, Ayyuub as-Sakhtiyaani and he was from the leaders of the Salaf – from the first generation of the Tabieen رضي الله عنهم when an innovator came to him and said :

“I wish to recite upon you one verse.” Meaning from the Qur’aan.

He put his finger in his ear and waved him off with his other fingers saying “not even half a verse.”

When the innovator left, they said to Ayuub, “so what is upon you that you don’t allow the man to recite upon you a verse from the Book of Allaah?”

He said: “I fear that he may twist it or change the meaning of it and it may stay in my heart.”

If this is the case of Ayyuub as-Sakhtiyaani and we have noted that he is from the Imaams, the leaders, of the first generation of the Taabi’een and the Imaams of the Salaf, and this was his case, and he was from the Scholars and the Imaams of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah and he was from the fuhool (فحول) of the ‘Ulamaa’, meaning from the ‘men’ of the ‘Ulamaa’ and he was one of high status and respect between them.

If this is a man that fears for himself the traps of the People of Innovation, even to the point that he didn’t want them to recite upon him an ayah – a verse, so what about us? How do you think the case is with us?!!!!

Here there is very important principle (قاعدة – qaaidah) that a Muslim should have tanbeeh (تنبيه) i.e. that he should pay attention to: That the Mu’min, the believer has fear; and if he fears he becomes ‘quick’ and runs towards Jannah, and as he runs faster to Jannah then sooner or later he will reach the manzil (منزل) – the home, the final abode, and that is Jannah. As for the Munaafiq (منافق) – the hypocrite, he feels secure and safe, he does not fear anything. The Shaitaan stays after him until he takes him into the Hellfire!!

Situation of the Ummah:


"When the Glorious Qur'an and the Sunnah are abandoned, because it is thought that they are insufficient; and when human opinions, analogy, discretion, and the words of scholars are sought, people's natures are corrupted, their hearts become dark, their understandings become confused, and their minds become distorted. All the previously mentioned matters had a great impact on their lives to the extent that the young and the old lived under these circumstances, thinking them to be allowed. Alternative conditions prevailed, in which innovated matters replaced Prophetic traditions, inclination replaced wisdom, vain desires replaced reason, doing astray replaced guidance, the wrong replaced the good, ignorance replaced knowledge, hypocrisy replaced devotion, the unlawful replaced the lawful, lying substituted truthfullness, flattery substituted advice, and injustice replaced justice, thus these evils reigned supreme, and their holders became privileged, despite the prevalence of their opposite in the past, where their holders were the privileged ones. If you see the superiority of such evils, and their slogans are set up where their armies are invading, surely the bottom of the earth would be much desirable than it's surface, the peaks of mountains would be more preferable than the plains, and accompanying beasts would be better than accompanying people!"

“So make yourself patient upon the Sunnah, stop where the people stopped, speak with what they spoke with, and refrain from what they refrained from. And follow the path of your Righteous Predecessors (Salafus Saaliheen) for verily, sufficient for you is that which was sufficient for them!”

Shaychoel-Islaam ibn Tamiyyah rahiemuhoellaah verduidelijkt in Madjmoe’ah Al-Fatawa deel 4 blz. 149 dat er een Idjma’ah is over de toestemming dat een persoon zichzelf associeert met madhab As-Selef, hij zegt:

‘’Het is geen schande dat iemand Madhab As-Selef beaamt en zichzelf daarmee associeert en daar trots op is! Beter gezegd, het moet met unanieme overeenstemming van hem geaccepteerd worden, want de Selef hun madhab is alleen maar op de Waarheid gebaseerd!’’

Evil at your doorstep if you confuse one of them for the other:



Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: When you confuse one of these groups with the other, you will find yourself in evil.

[COLOR="#0000FF"]The first of them:

They are those with whom your intermingling with them is like nourishment that one cannot do without in the morning and evening. One abandons it after fulfilling his need from it, and then returns to it when he is in need of it (again). This is how it is on a permanent basis (with such nourishment), and this similitude is more precious than red brimstone.

The ones (intended in this similitude) are those who know Allaah, His commandments, the plots of His enemies, the diseases of the hearts and their remedies. They are sincere to Allaah, His Messenger and His creation. In this similitude (regarding) intermingling with them, there is an all-embracing benefit.

The second category:


They are those ones you intermingle with similar to medication that is needed during illness. So, as long as you are healthy, you are not in need of intermingling with them. They are those you cannot do without in (seeking after) the beneficial things of livelihood and fulfilment of various dealings, partnerships, consultation, medication and the likes. When your needs are accomplished through intermingling with them, then there remains from this similitude those ones you intermingle with in the third category (of people).

The Third Category:

They are those ones whom intermingling with them are similar to diseases in their various classes and types and the differences in their severity and mildness.

Amongst them is the one whom your intermingling with him is similar to chronic illness. It is that one you can neither benefit in the religious nor the worldly affairs, alongside the fact that you will either incur a loss in both your religious and worldly affairs or in one of them. So if intermingling with him is made possible, then it is that disease that is feared will lead to death.

And amongst them is the one whom your intermingling with him is similar to a tooth ache whose pain becomes severe upon you, but when it leaves you the pain abates.

The Forth category:

It is the one with whom your intermingling with them is absolute destruction, and intermingling with them is similar to eating poison. How common is this similitude within the people! May Allaah not make them numerous, and they are Ahlul Bidah Wad Dalaalah (The people of innovation and misguidance). They are those who hinder (people) from the path of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and call to that which is in opposition to it. They are those who hinder (people) from the path of Allaah and seek to make it cooked; so they present innovation as Sunnah and Sunnah as innovation, and they present virtue as evil and evil as virtue.


And when you established Tawheed amongst them, they say: You have degraded the friends of Allaah and the righteous people. And when you establish the (affair) of following the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), they say: You have invalidated (the affair) of the followed Imaams. And when you command that which Allaah and His Messenger commanded, and forbid that which Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden of evil, they say: You are from those who put people to trial.

Abu Hurairah [Radhiya Allahu ‘anhu] heeft overlevert dat de Boodschapper van Allah [sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa salam] gezegd heeft:

“Aan het einde der tijden zullen er bedriegers en leugenaars zijn die jullie ahadeeth zullen geven die jullie nog nooit gehoord hebben, noch jullie noch jullie ouders. Let goed op dat ze jullie niet op het verkeerde pad brengen en dat ze jullie niet verleiden!”

Al Imaam Aboe Hatim Ibn Hibbaan Al Bastti zei:

De tong van de oprechte zit achter zijn hart. Als hij wil praten, raadpleegt hij zijn hart. Als het in zijn voordeel is dan praat hij en anders niet.

De onwetende heeft zijn hart aan het uiteinde van zijn tong zitten en alles wat zijn tong passeert spreekt hij uit. En degene die zijn tong niet in bedwang houdt, is niet in staat om zijn Religie te begrijpen!
