(Ahram Online) The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirms that the Morocco-Algeria game will go ahead as scheduled
The African governing body has turned down a request from Algeria to postpone their African Nations qualifier against Morocco - scheduled for 4 June - because of the security unrest in the country.
The Algerian Football Association made the request last Friday following recent large protests against the regime in Morocco.
After a disappointing performance in the first match, Morocco will be looking to beat their archrivals Algeria and lead their group.
With all the teams in the group on four points, qualification is still wide open. The Central African Republic is leading the race thanks to their superior goal difference.
For this crucial match, the Algerian FA - who had paid the team members a $6.000 bonus after their 1-0 home win - promised another $12.000 if they were to win the away match.
