The Frenchman thanked his players for their performance while highlighting the combination play between Marouane Chamakh and Mounir El Hamdaoui.

Moroccan national team caretaker coach Dominique Cuperly has told Lionsdelatlas.net that he feels his side deserved their 1-0 victory over Tanzania this weekend in Dar es Salaam. According to him, the players are the ones to be thanks and the three points which were gathered will prove extremely valuable, especially after the Atlas Lions squandered two points at home in their first outing against the Central African Republic.

“The merit of this victory comes back to the playes. Today we got the response we were looking for. These three away points will be important for the rest of the competition. We’re going to savor this small victory and continue to prepare for the rest. We’re going to play two friendly matches to improve our side and maybe call-up new players who can reinforce the squad,” he said.

Meanwhile, Cuperly added that he was satisfied with his side’s defensive performance but his team’s offensive potential left an impression on him as well.

“There was good defensive application and the goal we scored was very interesting. This goal, brought together by Chamakh and El Hamdaoui on the same play. We need to stay level headed for the rest of the qualifiers and work serenely to please all Moroccans,” he asserted.
