After the encouraging victory obtained last Saturday in Tanzania, the technical staff of the national team does not stop there way. In search of a better balance in a team, do not forget, is still convalescing, Dominique Cuperly, assistant coach of the Atlas Lions, has not finished scanning the horizon Europe in search of a new generation of footballers.

More than five months away now the third qualifying match at the CAN 2012 against Algeria, a period sufficient to allow Morocco, under the guidance of Eric Gerets this time to refine its preparation, with probably the reinforcements arrived in new faces.

They are called El Kaoutari, Aissata, Ait Fana or Belhanda, and share a common point: the dual nationality. World Cup South Africa, we know, has revealed a constellation of players holders of dual nationality. By globalizing, football is awash in nationalities variable geometry in a phenomenon which is known to invade all African countries. Morocco has thus able to rely on a host of footballers from binational immigration. While in the past, some attempts at seduction had failed to convince the company Affelay and Rami to wear the national jersey (they preferred to represent their country of adoption), the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) continues despite everything multiply appeals. With the arrival of Eric Gerets, solicitation akin to a plea seems to have finally found echoes among these "brothers" in Europe. Expediency or national identification? Probably both, but who cares! It is time to rebuild, the selection is a selection of the best elements in our possession, their source should under no circumstances constitute a source of controversy as long as indecision gave way to the motivation and involvement; However, the FRMF would do well to stop a form of harassment when a player does not express its will clear spontaneously joining the national team. As Hervé Andres wrote: "get this or that nationality is not just paper, but also adherence to a national community." However, the names and surnames, today, refer to the origins than most nationalities can be called German or Özil Khedira, or French and will appoint or Adil Yunis. The interest in a player passes necessarily by a call but it should not repeat this request in case of reluctance or refusal of the footballer. In recent months the names of several binational circulate in the national press. The veil was lifted on the choice of Amrabat, of Aïssata Carcela and probably if one believes the Belgian coach Georges Leekens. They all finally opted for the national team. To these should be added three Montpellier El Kaoutari, Belhanda and Ait Fana, although at present they still have not made any official statements to that effect.

Like St. Thomas, and without wishing to be skeptical, not Mountakhab.net trusts that what he sees. Read and listen to the national media, all these players would expect the endorsement of FIFA in response to their requests for change of nationality in sport. In this regard, we wish to make some clarifications. But first, here is a brief review of Article 18 of the Regulations of FIFA statutes, as amended in June 2009.
Concretely this means the abolition of any age limit (previously set at 21 years) to play with another selection. Now a player with dual nationality may opt for the selection of their choice (even after having moved into a category of young people of any country). However, this does not include players who played at least one official match with a selection of A.

After reading this article, it is clear that players like Younis and Nacer Chadli Belhanda (Twente, Netherlands) did not need the green light by FIFA as they have ever produced (officially) in the categories of youth in the country of adoption. They satisfy this fact, the conditions necessary to be selectable at any time.

To cut short any incorrect information or unfounded, Mountakhab.net offers a summary of the status of some players that the press reports in recent months:

In France:

Abdelhamid El-Kaoutari: He has played as a cadet and junior team in France (El Kaoutari needs a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco). Currently there is no official statement on his part.
Younes-Belhanda: He was involved with less than twenty years in the France team in the Toulon Tournament in the same way as his compatriot El-Jadeyaoui (2007) but this competition is not approved by FIFA (Alharbi El Jadeyaoui has indeed could face the Cameroon shortly after the Olympics with Morocco). He said he agreed to play for Morocco, but so far no statement from him has emerged to substantiate this hypothesis (Belhanda did not need a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).
Karim Ait-Fana: He said he wanted to play for Morocco before thinking better to qualify his remarks, which he said had been misinterpreted. It is said that he would ask one more time for reflection. The last I heard he still chose to represent Morocco, for the moment there is no official statement from the player. (Ait Fana need a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).

Netherlands:

-Nourdin Amrabat: It has already opted for Morocco, he made his official statement on the chain Arryadia (Amrabat needs a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).
-Ismail Aissati: It has recently opted for Morocco, Aissata made a statement to Dutch media (he needs a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).
-Osama Assaid: He opted for Morocco Assaid made a statement on the chain Arryadia (He needs a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).

Belgium:

Mehdi Carcela-Gonzales: Noureddine Moukrim (collaborator of the FRMF) said Carcela opted louse Morocco. Georges Leekens (coach of Belgium) has confirmed. (It needs a procedure to play FIFA with Morocco).
Nacer Chadli-: Chadli heeled hard to Morocco ("Morocco is the string" he has said). He did not need FIFA procedure as it has never played an official match with Belgium, it remains selected at any time by Morocco.
Yasser El-Ghannasy: He can not play for Morocco, it has initiated proceedings to play FIFA with Belgium and can not backtrack, which condemns him for the rest of his career with the Red Devils. He said choosing "deliberately Devils", in reality he had no other choice.

Germany:

Mohamed-Amsif: He was held in A for the first time against Benin. He has only played friendly matches, both with Germany (-18, -19 and U20) or Morocco (-20 years). Amsif did not need FIFA procedure.
Mimoun-Azouagh: He said he had already been endorsed by FIFA, but no confirmation at this time. He now plays with the reserve of Bochum.

Spain:

-Abdoulaye Konko: At last, Eric Gerets had personally taken the matter in hand. He said that Konko would be willing to accept. Sevilla defender at the three nationalities (French, Senegalese and Moroccan) does not need a procedure FIFA.
