DAMMAM: A 48-year-old bus driver, who was arrested in Dammam last week on charges of pedophilia, has confessed to committing over 200 counts of sex abuse on young children over the past five years, Al-Watan newspaper reported.
Having been arrested, the Arab expatriate confessed to committing sex crimes both within the Kingdom and abroad. He also told police how he raped an eight-year-old girl to take revenge against her mother who refused to have sex with him.
The man, an unmarried university graduate who lived in downtown Dammam, also confessed to blackmailing women into having sex with him using their pictures.
Following his arrest, it was learned that the man had previously been brought to court on charges of indecently exposing himself in front of children. The charges were, however, dropped due to lack of evidence.
Sources also said that while employed as the manager of a marketing company in Alkhobar, the man had been engaging in sexual relationships with women employees, something that led to some of them having abortions. The man was subsequently sacked in 2008 and then took on a job as a bus driver.
On raiding his home, police found video clips and pictures of him having sex with young children below the age of eight. The man would take children to his home where he would abuse and rape them. He had also been moving homes every three months to avoid detection.
Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice arrested him last week after an eight-year-old girl told her father that he had been buying her candy and asking her to touch his genitals.
The father informed the commission and said he was shocked at what his daughter told him and sickened that a man could do a thing like this to such a young girl.
