Three people, including a 14-year-old-boy, have been killed in Israeli air strikes overnight in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics say.
The Israeli military said it was responding to mortar and rocket attacks on Thursday on Israel from Gaza.
It said it attacked two tunnels on the border with Egypt, a tunnel to be used by militants for crossing into Israel and a weapons making site.
The strikes hit targets Gaza City, Khan Younis and Rafah.
The militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza, said an Israeli jet had also bombed a building in Gaza City.

On Thursday, Israeli planes dropped thousands of leaflets over the Gaza Strip warning residents to steer clear of the border after Palestinian militants fired mortar rounds into Israel.
Gaza militants have fired more than 280 rockets or mortars at Israel since the end of a devastating offensive against the territory on January 18, according to the Israeli military.
Palestinian groups and human right organisations say about about 1,400 Palestinians died during the offensive. Thirteen Israelis were also dies in the fighting.

Dat wilt hamas ook maar wel langs de grenzen van voor de Israëlisch-Arabische oorlog van 1967. Dat wilt Israel niet.

Israel has launched air raids against at least seven targets in the Gaza Strip, killing three people, Palestinian medics say.
The casualties on Thursday occurred near Gaza's border with Egypt where Israeli jets bombed two tunnels, which Palestinians use to smuggle goods into the blockaded coastal strip, medics and Hamas security officials said.
Palestinians said the body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered from one of the tunnels.
The air raids came after Israel said a dozen mortar bombs and rockets were fired from the Hamas-run territory into Israel. No casualties were reported from those attacks.
Israeli aircraft also hit three targets near Gaza City and two near the southern town of Khan Younis, striking empty buildings and open spaces, according to witnesses and Hamas officials.
Israeli media reports said Israel had targeted a weapons factory in Gaza City but the military had no immediate comment.
Al Jazeera's Ayman Mohyeldin, reporting from Gaza, said since Israel's war on Gaza ended last January, the Israelis have responded to mortar attacks from the Palestinian side with air raids on various parts of the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday, Israeli jets dropped thousands of leaflets over northern Gaza and Gaza City ahead of the attack, warning many of the 1.5 million residents to stay clear of the heavily-secured border, after the mortars and rockets were fired into Israel.
The leaflets, in Arabic, said anyone within 300m of the border "will be in danger".

palestijnen hebben sinds de jaren '80 al 20 jaar als honden geleefd, heel braaf in afwachting van hun beloning. reslutaat: NIKS.
israel is bezig met een politiek van zware onderdrukking, een beleid van systematisch treiteren en palestijnen het licht niet in de ogen gunnen.
er rest palestijnen niets dan toewerken naar een apocaliptisch scenario.

Ik denk dat zelfs de meest verwoede Palestijnen-voorstanders er inmiddels achter zijn dat Hamas niet de manier en de groepering is die de Palestijnen nodig hebben.
Het wordt erger en erger. Inmiddels worden ze van één kant door de Egyptenaren bestookt en aan de andere kant door Israël.
Dat durft Hamas enkel doordat ze denken dat elke moslim ter wereld achter hun staat.
Daarbij maken ze een gruwelijke vergissing. Om achter de Palestijnen te staan hoef je het immers beslist niet met Hamas eens te zijn!

Als israel bereid is om een palestijnse staat te erkennen volgens de grenzen van 1967 dan is er vrede. israel vertikt het..
