According to liondelatalas.net, Moroccan international striker Soufiane Alloudi is close to making a full recovery from a knee injury that has robbed him of being able to represent both his country and his Emirati club, Al Ain FC.

The former Raja Casablanca player has been rehabilitating in Morocco in order to be close to family and friends. In fact, he has been training with his previous side frequently and using the Raja facilities.

The news will please fans of the Atlas Lions, who have had little to cheer about after growing disillusioned with a national side that has been underperforming in World Cup qualifying.

The 26-year-old is fondly remembered by Moroccan supporters for his hat-trick in his team’s 5-1 thrashing of Namibia during the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana. Sadly, the player was injured in the encounter and didn’t play again in the tournament. Many point to that as the main reason that the North Africans were unable to get into the second round.

Alloudi is expected to return to the UAE in time for the upcoming season, but it is not clear whether he will be in good enough shape to boost Morocco's chances of reaching the World Cup finals for the first time since 1998.
