Iraqi Muhahideen attacked the as-Sufiyah command post of the US occupation troops north of ar-Ramadi (Al-Anbar Province). Mujahideen armed with machine guns, pipe rockets, and mortars, assaulted the US Marine check point, killing six troops and then making off with their weapons. Two fighters martyred in the course of the operation and one Mujahid was wounded, the Al Basrah reported.
Iraqi Mujahideen fighters armed with RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades had attacked a column consisting of a US mine sweeper and three armored vehicles in al-Fallujah (Al-Anbar Province). The attack left two armored vehicles destroyed and all the US troops who were inside them dead.

An Iraqi Mujahid marksman shot and killed a US Marine in Tall 'Afar (Ninwa Province), about 55km west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq. The Marine fell motionless to the earth. The other Marines responded by shooting hysterically into the air and at the facades of nearby houses for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Occupation Army announced that seven American troopers were killed in a number of Mujahideen operations across Iraq on Thursday. The real figures are of course much higher. the IRIB
reported.

No details on the nature or extent of casualties were available since US forces had sealed off the area after the first attack took place.

certainly casualties among the Americans aboard the tank, given the extent of the damage done to it by the blast.
