20:15
إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا تَسْعَى
Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives.
"Zie, het Uur komt. Ik zal het onthullen opdat elke ziel de beloning zal ontvangen waarnaar zij streeft."

20:16
فَلاَ يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لاَّ يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَى
So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish.
"Laat degene die er niet in gelooft en zijn eigen neigingen volgt, u er niet van afwenden; anders zoudt gij verloren gaan."

قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى
[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance]
Hij zeide: "Mijn Heer, verruim mijn borst,"

وَيَسِّرْ لِى أَمْرِى
And ease for me my task
"En maak voor mij mijn taak lichter,"

وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِى
And untie the knot from my tongue
"En ontdoe de knoop in mijn tong"

يَفْقَهُواْ قَوْلِي
That they may understand my speech.
"Opdat zij (de mensen) mijn woorden mogen verstaan,"

كَىْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيراً
That we may exalt You much
"Opdat wij U veel mogen verheerlijken,"

وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِير
And remember You much.

إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيراً
Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing."

20:44
فَقُولاَ لَهُ قَوْلاً لَّيِّناً لَّعَلَّهُ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَى
And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [ Allah ].
Doch spreekt tot hem op welwillende wijze, opdat hij er lering uit moge trekken, of vrezen.

20:46
قَالَ لاَ تَخَافَآ إِنَّنِى مَعَكُمَآ أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَى
[ Allah ] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.
Hij (Allah) zei: "Vreest niet, want Ik ben met u beiden. Ik hoor en Ik zie."

20:53
الَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الاٌّرْضَ مَهْداً وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلاً وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجاً مِّن نَّبَـتٍ شَتَّ
[It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants.
Hij is het Die u de aarde heeft gegeven tot een wieg en wegen voor u heeft doen ontstaan en Die regen doet nederdalen uit de hemel, waardoor Hij allerlei planten voortbrengt.

20:54
كُلُواْ وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَـمَكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذلِكَ لأيَـتٍ لاٌّوْلِى النُّهَى
Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence.
(Zeggende): "Eet hiervan en weidt uw vee.” Voorwaar, hierin liggen tekenen voor degenen die verstand bezitten.

20:55
مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَـكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَى
From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time.
Uit de aarde hebben Wij u geschapen en daarin zullen Wij u doen terugkeren en van daaruit zullen Wij u weer opwekken.

20:75
وَمَن يَأْتِهِ مُؤْمِناً قَدْ عَمِلَ الصَّـلِحَـتِ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجَـتُ الْعُلَى
But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position]:
Doch die als gelovigen tot Hem komen en goede werken hebben verricht, zullen de hoogste graden (in positie) ontvangen.
