American soldier killed in Iraq An American soldier has been killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack south of Baghdad, the US military has said. The attack happened west of Iskandariya, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) from the Iraqi capital. A US military spokeswoman said the soldier belonged to the 18th Military Police Brigade. The death brings to 151 the number of US servicemen killed since President George W Bush declared an end to major combat on 1 May. Spate of attacks Troops from the US-led coalition have been attacked almost daily since large-scale hostilities ended. The latest incident occurred on Sunday night, a day after another US soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. On Friday, a US Black Hawk helicopter was shot down near Tikrit, killing all six people on board. De chaos op de plaats van de aanslag is enorm. Volgens ooggetuigen zijn ook veel kinderen het slachtoffer geworden. Voor zover bekend woonden op het complex geen Westerse buitenlanders. Meer incidenten Deze week vond een aantal gewelddadige incidenten plaats in het land. In Mekka, de heilige stad, bliezen twee fundamentalistische moslims zich op toen de politie hen achtervolgde. Men vermoedt dat zij behoorden tot de groep die eerder deze week werd opgepakt. Hierbij kwamen twee militante moslims om het leven die een aanslag op pelgrims wilden plegen. Ook in het golfstaatje Bahrein werden Britse staatsburgers door de Britse ambassade gewaarschuwd voor aanslagen.

"The mentality of Mujahideen and the literature of the Al-Qaida and related parties is very clear. There is no way they would attack Muslims unless they are collateral damage" the London-based Movement for Islamic Reform in Arabia (Mira) spokesman Saad al-Faaqih said. The very nature of the target would never be considered by a Mujahideen group due to high risk of collateral damage and there isn’t a Muslim anywhere who will buy the headlines that are running rampant in western press. For some of us who are close to the daily news we saw the whole thing coming. First there were the so-called international alerts sounded by the US of course, just a few days prior to the bombing that then came coincidentally just one day after the United States closed its missions in the Kingdom for security review. Out to lunch I guess. This fuels the fear and gets the populous ready for the impending “incident” and has been a repetitive maneuver. CNN broke the story and claimed 100 were killed or injured “mostly children” and then flashed pictures of hurt children under the headline “Al-Qaeda” just to add to the effect. Rarely does CNN show graphic shots (and never of US casualties) unless of course it adds to the drama. As the news report came in, the “facts” where changing moment by moment. Of the final toll, 11 dead and over 122 wounded (many children), almost all were Arabs, including four Egyptians and four Lebanese who were among those killed. The Saudi Interior ministry listed just four Americans and six Canadians among the wounded, and all of those were of Arab descent. The complex housed Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians. Hmm. The fact remains that this flurry of recent attacks indicates that someone is intent on destabilizing Saudi Arabia so the question is who has the most to benefit and the capability of perpetrating this kind of cold-blooded act? Well that is all too easy to answer. As we all know, the Iraq war was actually about oil, but not oil destined for the United States. Israel instigated the conflict in an attempt to gain access to Iraqi oil through the pipeline which runs from Iraq into Jordan and at one time continued on to Haifa and it is chomping at the bit for Saudi spoils too. And of course, Israel has a past and current history of murdering Palestinian children which they consider expendable so this is surely no concern when considering its overall gains. Israel has its sights set not just on Palestine but its other Arab neighbors also. Could it be that Saudi Arabia is next? Sundays headlines reading “Al-Qaida Losses Support In The Arab World” is hog wash and nothing more than another attempt to “divide and conquer”. The Arab world has long known the antics of the US and Israel and the Muslims didn’t even bother to read them. They were to busy making Ramadhan supplications to Allah. Je staat te juichen bij iedere Amerikaan, Israëlier of andere westerling (lees niet moslim) die gedood wordt. Maar als je geconfronteerd wordt met moslimbroeders die in hun heilige oorlog per ongeluk 17 moslimbroeders (waarvan 5 kinderen) doden ben je de eerste die op www.complottheorie.com op zoek gaat naar verhalen die je ook maar een beetje de mogelijkheid geven om de waarheid te ontkennen. "Want moslims doen zoiets toch niet". Jij vraagt je af waarom ik het bericht over Ryaad plaats, omdat het niks met Irak te maken zou hebben. Ik doe het gewoon om aan te geven dat moorden absoluut geen zin heeft. En daarbij maakt het geen donder uit wie er vermoord wordt en wat zijn nationaliteit is. Jij komt inderdaad weer aankakken met een vaag ongefundeerd samenzweringsverhaaltje. Maar toch één vraag aan jou Ezzedine. Wat zou jij met hetzelfde artikeltje hebben gedaan als de aanslag in Ryaad "gelukt was" en de 17 gedode arabieren (inclusief 5 kinderen) toevallig wél Amerikanen, Israëlisch of andere westerlingen waren geweest? Had je dan ook de CIA en de Mossad de schuld gegeven???

Gekke saudis als formele daders,maar wat i kal eerder zei dat ze zijn gestimuleerd door valse informatie geleverd door de Cia of de mossad of door bush persoonlijk het interseert me geen ene moer. Dit weet ik zeker er zou nooit iemand zijn in al-qaeda of een of andere verzetbeweging die dit zou doen tenminste bewust het doden van broeders en zusters.
